I like my women like I like my coffee...

...Ground up and in the freezer.
...Not too hot.
...Scalding in my lap.
...Free, in the office breakroom.
...During break.
...For a dollar.
...Imported from Columbia.
...Filled with Irish Creme.
...With breakfast.
...Not too soon before bedtime.
...With whiskey.
...Cold and full of milk.
...Before an exam.
...Leaves lots of stains.
...For diuretic properties.
...Cheap and easily available.
...Bought in bulk.
...At the convenience store.
...From the bottom of the pot.
...With a scent that gets me up in the morning.
...Run through a filter.
...Available in single serving.
...Filled with milk.
...Good to talk over.
...With a glazed doughnut.
...With lots of lumps.
...In a paper cup.
...Expensive and trendy.
...In a designer mug.
...Severely overpriced.
...In Starbucks(tm).
...Shared by a couple.
...Fat free.
...Lactose free.
...In my mouth on a cold night.
...Dumped on my friend.
...Thrown in somebody's face.
...Prepared by a machine.
...Agitated into frothiness.
...With a cardboard handle.
...Watered down.
...Twenty ounces at a time.
...With a flavor shot.
...At Denny's (if I'm desperate).
...Through two little straws.
...As a hidden minigame.
...With really large boobs.

[thetakogun, cgranade, another friend and I came up with most of these all at once.]

That last one didn't apply to coffee...or does it? I just can't make the connection.

That is the joke of that one -- it just quits making sense there.

Mon, Mar. 6th, 2006 02:38 am (UTC)

That's only part of the joke...the other part is finding out how much time people spend trying the make the connection.

cgranade: Brilliant.

That's a meaning we never even hit upon! Wow. Who knew popular cliches had such a depth of meaning waiting to be exploited? Well, OK, not meaning, but at least entertainment.

I can imagine a detailed discussion on the subject, several hundred replies long.

masstreble: Comment THROUGH TIME!

Speaking of which (over a year ago), have you ever heard of the great viking debate? It was about a character's line from The Simpsons. "Sleep! That's where I'm a Viking!" There was a whole debate about what the kid meant by that, but it fell into two camps: the gag is that he can't tell the difference between his dreams and reality, or that the gag is that he sleeps a lot, and that "that's where I'm a viking" is a phrase that means you're good at something.

It went on for weeks and hundreds of pages.

Who HASN'T heard of the great viking debate? It's amazing where the really heated debates come from. Personally, I thought that he was obsessed with vikings so much that he dreams of it....

You have just been on lately, you know?

Sun, Mar. 5th, 2006 12:07 pm (UTC)

As in, online?

holophote: well, why not?

Yeah, you're so present.

Having Internet access at my job makes it so much easier. I rather like it like this: I'm getting paid to talk to people online and petty paperwork. Awesome! I should be making more substantive posts, though.

sparksol: And then some.

Substantive? Why? Substantive posts are fine if you only post once a week/month or something, but if you've got the time, and don't feel like there's much to say, blabber.

masstreble: Re: And then some.

When I said "substantive", I meant more things I'm thinking about or stuff that's going on that others would find interesting. Lately, it's just been stuff like this post.

sparksol: Ok, good.

I was thinking the same definition, then.
There's nothing wrong with it.

I know! That's why I post them! :D I don't mean at the expense of these, I mean in addition to.
