Yarr, I'll tell ye a story. *flail*

People* who offer advice that themselves would not follow are consistently trumped by those that offer advice that nobody sane would ever follow. I believe both of those people tend to view the problems of others as an opportunity to state their ideals too-frequently-problematic ideals.

*None of you fall into this. I'm being obnoxiously non-specific. :3

Yes, that is certainly applicable, but I had in mind the more everyman figure. I don't know how frequently I've heard conversations like:

"My significant other can be such a pain."
"You should dump him."
"That's... no. It doesn't work like that."

"My boss is such an ass."
"Quit you job!"

"I wish I could find a new apartment in town. This complex bites."
"You should move. Do it now."
"Well, my lease is still active for six months, and I don't have the capital--"

It also goes to such degrees as,

"Stupid jerks down at the hall keep playing loud music at night."
"You should, like, kick their ass every time they do it. Or throw their stereo out the window."

"Hey, cgranade, your computer giving you problems again."
"Kind of. It's an extension of a persisting problem: (explains)"
"Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. That's a difficult series of issues that could take a hardware overhaul to fix if I understand it right. Luckily, I have the solution: WE'LL BUILD A BOMB THAT BLOWS UP ALL COMPUTER PROBLEMS! :D"
"...Yeeaaaaah, masstreble, we'll do that."
