On Diesel Sweeties.

Diesel Sweeties is really started to test my patience. I can't really say when, but there was some turning point it hit a year or so back where instead of amusement, it started conjuring irritation. I'll always appriciate the style, at least.

I think it started, more or less, with Nipples the Bear. It seems to be the essential element of the classic gag comic to refference furries, assuming that the refference alone is instant, easy laughs. Toothpaste For Dinner, I think, falls into this too frequently, along with just directly mentioning the Internet. This is an element of web humor I've never found appealing: the fallacy that there is some Essential Funny Thing, that has the Funny Nature, an inherent virtue. If only writing were so easy.
