Join our guild! We'll give you can-dy~.

I ran into _earth_vs_soup_ last Friday. Her and one of the other few UAF Art Guild members. Hanging out with them was an enlightening experience. Behold these things I learned:
  • It is hard to get college students interested in student groups. The campus anime club is flopping around, almost memberless, too. A student's life must be too busy or self-absorbed for things like groups. Maybe we're just lazy.

  • Fast-paced political discussions give me headaches. There's too much to talk about! Words not stop?! Why?! Auuuuugh!

  • As comfortable as my little niche up here is, it can be fun to leave the dome once and a while, even if I am kind of busy for it. Meeting new people is still a rewarding and stimulating experience. Gasp!

I've heard a lot about the Texas anime scene in the late eighties. These were people gathered to watch Ranma 1/2 on laserdisc. Now everybody watches anime, which makes the club seem out of place time.
