Project Big-Move-East has hit a snag. Not a deathly snag, but a snag. My moving partner isn't going, so now it's just me. This complicates things in the same way it simplifies things. On one hand, there's no coordination issues. On the other, all the plans about how things were going to work just disintegrated, so I need to make new ones. I don't see how this is going to change my final destination or the time frame, but it does change a couple of details, that's all. Unless things go turbo wonky (wonkier).

EDIT: NEVER THE FREAKING MIND he's back on. Couple of details different, but same plot.

Boston: land of golden toilets.[/in-joke] Because MIT was supposed to factor closely into my almost-roommate-again's plans, we were going to aim for somewhere with subway-proximity, but now... well, now I guess I have more choices to make regardless of that. I guess I still want to try to get a room near a station for mobility reasons! ANYHOW I just overanswered your question so I'm going to stop now.

The West Saieahd is lovely, and I've long thought that I would just kind of shift down there. I've thought long and hard about it the last year, though, and decided to take a full move action onto the East Saieahd. With any luck, I won't provoke any opportunity attacks from the forces of misfortune on the way. Washington and Oregon are lovely; they have a few of the nice points of Alaska, without the Endless Winters of Dark Arctic Doom or the isolation, and a ton of their own character.

The way I'm looking at is that I've never even seen the Atlantic before, I'm young and free, and I've never done anything like this before. On top of that, Massachusetts has a lot to offer me, along with an existing group of people that I'm (fairly o-o) sure would tolerate my occasional presence.

Well, at least you have someone there to send things to your new destination. You take what you can with you, get things set up at your new home, and he'll send the rest of your things out.

Eeeeeerm not quite, see, he's still going to be leaving the same time as me, he just doesn't know where. My current plan is to do exactly what you suggest with me dad in Palmer. /:D

Oh...well, great minds think alike.

Yup! Although I feel bad for asking my dad for any kind of help after I just told him I didn't need any. On the other hand, plans change, he knows that, and it isn't like he's going to reasonably refuse something that I can easily make trivial for him.

Its not like you could foresee problems that come up.
