Things that have changed since last time:

At least I'm getting plenty of time to draw and stuff. Actually, since I'm on toni--WHAT THE--

This was the standard ball test that I realized I messed up on two frames in and then I was like "aw what the hell let's just see where it goes" and it... went somewhere. Took me over an hour to do, though.

Yeah, I don't know. I'm trying to figure out lip-syncing, but I'll admit I'm at a loss. Nice warm up kinda "sketch" though.

So, you know, whatever. Now you know what I do with my evenings.

Maybe I will, actually. I've got a lot of this stuff sitting around of out in the abyss somewhere, and it's better than just deleting it, which is usually what I do when I get bored or especially frustrated with whatever I'm dicking around with.

Firefox tells me that "dicking" isn't a word. TIME FOR AN EDU-MA-CATION FIREFOX

Now, that's a cool looking piece of animation! ^^

Wow, thanks! I discovered that you can use the GIMP to make animated .gifs using layers and a couple of filters, and so I decided, "Hey, you work with what you have available." It's kind of clumsy, because there's no side-by-side frame view or easy way to switch layer focus. Nope, just solid, stacked layers with which I can copy or make new, and change their order. I can play around with alpha effects like this, though, so it's not all bad. Also the GIMP has a really usable interface since version 2! I've totally fallen in love with it; I prefer it over Adobe's Photoshop completely. Now if only Inkscape were as usable as Adobe Illustrator...

Oh my god, the ball test turned out BEAUTIFUL...

Oh geez you guys, I'm not ready for all of this positive energy! *blush*

I'm having problems wrapping my head around the timing issues. The GIMP defaults to 100 ms frames, so that's 10 frames per second, which is way too slow for the human eye, but I'm just screwing around so I roll with it. :D In any case, I realized I had totally gummed up the trajectory... because it's not like I had the foresight to do keyframes like my animation instructor patiently taught the lot of us to do in college, oh no, I was just winging it. I guess the two-week long dark dingy GRAAAAAAY sky up here is already putting me into Winter mode. I needed to see something thrive.

I love that dandelion one. I'd love to have an icon of the first part of it <3

The first part? The ball part? ()^^ I'm guessing you mean the part where just the first plant grows and flowers. Maybe I'll do that tonight, it wouldn't take too long. And then I guess I could use it, too.

Yup the part where it grows and flowers, but before it multiplies :3

I forgot LJ's size limit is 40Kb. The icon I made like RIGHT after you requested turned out to be 43Kb. HMMMM. It looks like this extremely simple task is going to take slightly even longer than anticipated.

In the meantime, check out the new alpha-fied version of this one, from the "Our Mother's Health" music video. Oh, yeah. Crispy and transparency...y.

The hardest compression I ever did was this icon here. It was amazingly hard to compress to under 40k. Take your time though :)
