Post enitrely about video games so it is easier to scroll past all at once

Alright. I guess I'll talk about video games again here.

I used some money I got from Christmas to get Little Big Planet for the PSP. It's not by Media Molecule directly, but it's still pretty good. I'm honestly more interested in original content than little adaptations of big things, as it were, but that's sadly the way the markets work, especially for the poor PSP. I also did some looking into the matter, and there are two Persona titles for the PSP, one of them is a port/remake of the first Persona, and it gets really mixed reviews. I'm thinking I'll be able to get it on the cheap used at some point, maybe, I don't know. The other is -- hold your breath! -- a port of the third Persona with some content differences. Goddamn it. I got second-hand news of both titles kinda mixed together (SECOND HAND OKAY, not completely my fault), so I thought there was a unique installation in the Persona series on the PSP. If that was the case, the lack of talk about it would be really weird, but now it makes sense.

I've been playing Okami again recently. It's the only PS2 game I own, and there's a PS2 here. It's still great. Something that's totally weird about that in my memory is confirmed to still be totally weird: the animal feeding. It breaks into these long, sweet pastoral cut scenes that has Amaterasu dotingly looming over the animal that she's feeding as it cutely eats, as the camera slowly revolves around them. It's optional for the most part, but the animals emit hearts forever after when you come near and it gives you a little pseudo-EXP so of course you do it at every opportunity. Taken as an experience, though, it's really rather surreal and just slightly disruptive. On top of that, whenever she's feeding a rabbit or something, it's nearly worrying. Here's this cosmically powerful wolf proudly sitting there, watching this little seemingly unphased bunny dig into a pile of greens. I can't stop myself from adding some mental dialogue to it, too, which always makes it worse. Ammy's got this feminine Voice of the Legion in my head, |||Yeah. You like that? You like those greens, little bunny?||| and the rabbit has a voice like the little girl from Azumanga, "Mm-hmm! ^__^"

...Before you ask, no, the doctors don't know what's wrong with me. /:]

So I've been poking at the computer gaming thing because I have some access to a Windows machine that I've got kind of behaving itself now, and that's about to receive a couple of upgrades, at the least more RAM. No Internet (as far as online gaming is concerned), but still, I can't help but linger now when I didn't before. It looks like the big thing to look for at this point in time is whether your graphics card is Direct X 8 or 9 doing-capable-whatever. Good to know. It really looks like you don't have to drop hundreds of dollars to play off-the-shelf stuff anymore, which was the way I remember it back at the turn of the last decade. I mean, you can put down for a great machine like the one I've got sitting next to me purring like a particularly quiet kitten that's running Fedora and doesn't have Internet access at all so let's not dwell on that but that only gets you a smoother and better-looking experience. Maybe. I don't know, that's just what I can tell from the outside. Although it should be said that Darwinia runs great on the machine upstairs, as addled as it is.

Holy crap, look, I just go on and on and on.

Hey, help me out here: what should I draw? I've got a dozen crappy WIP that out to be buried that way, and I think I need to listen to somebody else now to get out of this rut. C'mon, you'll be helping me out here. Anything. Email it to me or whatever if it's kinky/awesome. Seriously.

Uh, actually, um, I've been doing pretty much all of the above. I've only started digital sketchbooking -- that means uh saving stuff I draw digitally instead of just closing the image and opening a new one ^^() -- pretty recently, but I've done little studies of pretty much everyone I spend a lot of time with, purely from what I can remember, and if they have avatars, that too. There's a reason I can draw Raichu ears. X-x TWO MUSCLES. It's also why I'm perplexed as to why I can't draw wolves at all, and since Z. moved into the picture, I've come to terms with how I also don't handle feline features without looking at source material every fifteen seconds like a deranged parakeet with OCD.

Also, hey, I don't see you around much online, or at least where I've been haunting. How you bean?

Yeah, privacy and computers and limited access and all that, I'm familiar with that. Squeaks here has been a godsend, because at least I can chillax on the super-slow net alone in my room where family members and strangers won't be looking over my shoulder and going "Who is that?", "Is that a comic you're reading there?", "What's all that stuff about?" and the dreaded "Oh my god in that picture what is she doing with that guy!!!!?!" through all of which I'm going "Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I'll get to it later bye; Interneting right now. :|"
